2026-2027 Student Body President
Airel C. Stewart is a graduate student in the Bush School of Government & Public Service pursuing a Master of Public Service and Administration with a Public Management track, a Nonprofit Management Certificate, and a concentration in Health, Law, and Policy. Airel currently serve as a Class Representative and Academic Liaison for the MPSA program, where works to support student engagement and strengthen communication between students and leadership. Airel, as the incoming president, is excited to strengthen relationships across the Texas A&M community and ensure graduate and professional students feel heard, represented, and connected. Graduate & Professional Student Body President 2023 President Intent to Run Form
Time commitment of 20+ hours/week. This position is a Graduate Assistantship. Tuition and Fees are covered within assistantship. Must be able to work in College Station starting June 2026. Presidential transition begins April 2026, GANT position begins June 2026 - May 2027.

Represents graduate and professional students and the Graduate and Professional Student Government to the University and Non-University communities

Shall facilitate the realization of the goals of the Graduate and Professional Student Government

Plans, prepares, and co-chairs all officer meetings

Completes annual Graduate and Professional Student Government recognition procedures as mandated by the Department of Student Activities

Serves on all University committees requiring the presence of the Graduate and Professional Student Government President

Appoints Graduate and Professional Student Government Senators and/or other graduate or professional students to University committees or delegates that power to the Vice President of University Affairs

Voting member of the Governance Board, when it meets in committee

Maintains protocol and procedural knowledge to be passed onto successive Student Body Presidents

Supports the Student Research Week planning committee
