About

Origin and Evolution
Founded in 1994 as a one-day poster event, Student Research Week (SRW) has evolved into the nation’s largest student-run research symposium. Each year, hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students present their research through oral and poster presentations, showcasing excellence in research while advancing their careers.
Mission
The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) is committed to the enhancement of scholarship for students. The mission of SRW is to recognize and celebrate student research at Texas A&M University by providing an opportunity for students to present research and to foster an environment for students, faculty, staff, and administration to learn about the research occurring at Texas A&M University.
Student-Led Initiative
SRW is primarily organized by the Graduate and Professional Student Government in collaboration with Student Life, the Graduate and Professional Studies, Vice President for Research, academic colleges, and faculty. As a student-planned and student-organized event, SRW represents a unique campus initiative.
Event Programming
SRW features expert panels, resource tables, industrial partner presentations, research symposiums, and keynote addresses from distinguished speakers. Students are encouraged to volunteer throughout the week—attending presentations and serving as judges—providing valuable professional development opportunities for all participants.
