If you win an award, you will fill out the necessary paperwork at the awards ceremony. The payment will be processed through your student account. It can take at least 4-6 weeks to fully process and receive your award after completing all necessary paperwork.

The Texas A&M Libraries and the University Writing Center have a wide variety of resources free and available to all students both graduate and undergraduate.
The Center for Teaching Excellence also has an English Language Proficiency program.
No! We encourage all students to participate, you can compete even if your data is not finalized and if you’re research findings are incomplete.
Yes! For students in research labs that would like to present with a group you are encouraged and allowed. For registration each group member will register individually and check “group” but add only their group leader’s name and information for the section of registration that asks for group information. The group leader will register and include every group members name and information in the section for group information.
Yes! We have had participants from the same research labs compete individually and present different research findings or focus on different parts of their research in the past. There are two options when doing this a.) individuals can include their research lab members as their group members and make the main presenter their team lead b.) present individually and not include other members as group members but ensure all presentations are focusing on different parts of their research.
Results will be posted online the week after the event.
Anyone! Faculty, staff, and all Texas A&M students can sign up to volunteer at the event. Some faculty, staff, graduate and professional students can also sign up to judge, based on their qualifications. Only students, both graduate, and undergraduate, who are enrolled at Texas A&M University-College Station and pay student fees are eligible to present their research and compete for prizes.
If you must miss class, please contact the SRW Director at srw@tamu.edu in order to receive a university-approved excused absence form for your class.

Registration
Just complete the appropriate form linked on the Competitors page. You will receive a confirmation email with an optional form to presentation workshops. You will receive updates as sessions are scheduled towards the end of registration.
You will need to designate one person as a “group leader.” This person will register as the main point of contact for the group and will need to list all of the members of the group when registering. They will need the names, UINs, emails, and phone numbers for each member. Each group member will register individually and check “group” but only include the group leaders name and information when adding group members.
All judges must have a degree higher than that of the students they are judging. For example, a judge must have a Ph.D. or equivalent to judge graduate students; in order to judge undergraduate students, a judge must have a bachelor’s degree or higher. You may preference a subject area you would like to judge.
Abstracts should be equal to or less than one page. SRW spans all disciplines at Texas A&M. Because of this, your abstract should fit conventionally acceptable formats for your discipline. Consult Texas A&M resources such as the Libraries, University Writing Center, your professors, and colleges, or email us at srw@tamu.edu if you have questions.
Check the registration form on the corresponding page for your involvement type: Competitor, Judge, or Volunteer.
Once registration closes on, you cannot change competition formats.
Competition

We provide tacks, mallets, and boards to pin the posters to, but not the poster presentation materials.
Your poster should be no larger than 4 ft. x 4 ft. We will not provide materials to cut your posters to size.
Schedules will be sent out between in early March.
You may participate in two presentations if you are the primary author on one project and the co-author on another project. You also cannot participate in both oral presentations and poster presentations for the same research project.
Students can present multiple projects if they’d like. The research must be distinctly different, but please know these will be presented in different sessions.
Our database is set up in such a way that you can only submit information for one project. That being said, please upload your first priority project and email us at srw@tamu.edu with the information for the second project. We will manually add the information to make sure you are able to present both.

Yes. If you are presenting your research orally, you must stay for the entire session. This limits the distraction for other competitors and shows support for your fellow researchers. Likewise, if you are presenting a poster, you must stay for the entire session in order to answer any questions that the judges might have for you. Each judge may come at a different time, and if you are not at your poster, you will be disqualified.
Yes! As a student, you can register to present your research and volunteer. It is possible certain graduate students would be able to register as a judge, volunteer, and present their research.

We encourage everyone to attend the awards ceremony. If you win an award, in order to receive it you will need to fill out a form at the awards ceremony or risk delaying the processing of your award.
